Welcome to the earth observation website of the Netherlands Institute for Aerospace Programmes (NIVR) On this website you can search for earth observation applications and data products. Earth observation is collecting data about the earth’s surface by using satellites, airplanes, airships or other tools. This website focuses on the data collected by satellites. You can find more information on earth observation by clicking on the Links button.

The goal of this website is to bring the possibilities, applications and the use of earth observation data closer to the potential users in the Netherlands.


How-to use this website

On this website you can find information about earth observation missions. Which may be past, present or future missions.

Via this website you can find information about earth observation in general, user applications, suppliers of earth observation data and applications, and the technical details of satellites and sensors.

This site contains different parts:


Inexperienced and new users of this website are advised to make use of the application search. With this search functionality you can find applications by first selecting a category, than a subcategory and finally an application field. You can directly find complementing information about the selecting items.

Experienced users are advised to make use of the sensor search. With the Sensor Search you can look for sensor name, organization, application, resolution, spectrum and data policy.

If you are interested in the mission characteristics of the satellites, you are advised to use the satellite search. Here you can look for satellite name, organization and orbit type.

There is also a launch table where you can find the launch dates of all missions.
