This LICENSE folder contains license information files used by Compaq Visual Fortran. Your usage of Compaq Visual Fortran is governed by the printed license agreement which accompanied your purchase. The presence of a license key in this folder does not, by itself, constitute a valid license to use the product. Please read the printed license agreement for the license details. If you have installed a Visual Fortran kit which comes with a license for a Number of Individuals (Compaq part numbers xx-5LBxx-xx, xx-5LCxx-xx and xx-5UDxx-xx), a file FORTRAN.LIC should be created in this folder by the Visual Fortran installation. This contains a license key that is required for use of the product. Do not edit, rename or remove this file, otherwise you may become unable to use the product. If you have installed a Visual Fortran kit which comes with a license for a Number of Concurrent Users (Compaq part numbers xx-6KSxx-xx, xx-6KTxx-xx, xx-6KUxx-xx), no FORTRAN.LIC file is created. On first use of the compiler, you will be prompted to enter the location of a local license server set up by your network administrator to serve the Visual Fortran licenses. See the Visual Fortran Getting Started manual for more details. If you have installed a Visual Fortran kit intended for a Number of Individuals license, but wish to use it with a Concurrent license that you purchased separately, do the following: 1) Delete the FORTRAN.LIC file 2) Double-click on the LICRESET.REG file and click Yes to enter the information into the registry. This will reset the stored location of Visual Fortran licenses and allow you to enter the path to the license server the next time you run the compiler. If you have any questions about Visual Fortran licensing, please send e-mail to vf-support@compaq.com Copyright 2001 Compaq Computer Corporation
